After discovering that the iconic cartoon that catapulted her voice acting career into stardom is undergoing a revival without her, Gloria, a 50-year-old voice actress grappling with adversity, embarks on a daring journey within the fiercely competitive realm of voice acting. Determined to reclaim the role that is rightfully hers, she learns to celebrate her unique voice and the path it has paved.
This was Kendall’s senior thesis film at Chapman University. It stars Candi Milo (Dexter’s Laboratory, Space Jam: A New Legacy, Loony Toons, and so much more). It was an interesting case study because, a few months after the film was released, Candi, who is also known for voicing Astro Boy, went through a very similar real-life experience to what her character Gloria goes through — They rebooted Astro Boy with a younger, male voice actor. This project was the third film Kendall and Candi had collaborated on, and they went on to make the feature film, When Jeff Tried to Save the World together. Their creative partnership is one Kendall values deeply.
