A bathroom mishap at a surprise birthday party sets off a chain of misunderstandings that spiral wildly out of control. As Amber, an anxious outsider, desperately tries to explain what happened, each attempt only makes things worse — turning a minor social embarrassment into an increasingly absurd and dangerous nightmare.

SURPRISE was co-written by Kendall and Mary Elizabeth Ellis (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), who stars in the film alongside Ray Wise, Derek Waters, Ryan Asher, Candi Milo, and Jeffrey Murdoch. Built around one of Kendall’s favorite comedic ideas — taking an anxious worst-case scenario and making it literally come true — SURPRISE plays its escalating absurdity completely straight, finding the comedy in embarrassment, miscommunication, and the terrifying feeling that everyone in the room has suddenly turned against you.
